Job Summary

Provides for delivery of basic pharmacy services, patient-oriented clinical pharmacy services, drug information and monitoring.  Reviews all drug orders and checks all work completed by ancillary personnel in the department.  Serves as drug expert and consultant to physicians, nursing staff and other hospital personnel.  Provides quality assurance review of drug utilization throughout the hospital for various medical staff committees and the department.  Accepts supervisory responsibilities during time when managerial support is not physically on campus. This includes decisions related to policies and procedures that may fall outside of normal operational procedures and resolving technical difficulties with pharmacy specific equipment such as Pyxis and POMS. Shift typically occurs between the hours of 1900 and 0800, when the pharmacist to patient ratio exceeds that of other day/evening shifts. 

Additional Details

**Our Night Shift Pharmacists enjoy a schedule of 7 on – 7 off, with overtime earned after the 8th hour.  We also offer a highly competitive compensation package which includes a generous hourly differential (between 7pm-7am).   We are also pleased to offer Sign-On Bonuses and Relocation Assistance to those that qualify.** 

Essential Accountabilities


Provides leadership and supervision for the night technicians and support staff to ensure workflow is appropriate to meet the needs of patients. 

Verifies accuracy of medication compounded and dispensed from Pharmacy Services. 

Provides drug information to medical, nursing, and/or ancillary staff as needed.

Prepares intravenous additive solutions and extemporaneously compounded medications accurately.

Interprets physician orders and intervenes when appropriate for clarification or correction.

Reviews the patient profile for allergies, interactions, and appropriateness before dispensing.

Checks dosage for appropriateness for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Carefully checks the work of Technicians before initialing labels. Directs Technicians to perform tasks appropriate to current priorities.

Participates in medication use evaluations, records Pharmacist interventions, and adverse drug events.

10. Communicates with the night hospital supervisor in the event of a pharmacy situation during the night shift.

Job Summary:  The Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) Manager oversees all business operations of the ambulatory care centers in the San Jose area.  Assumes responsibility for maximizing revenue while assuring optimum patient care. Works closely with site Managers, site Supervisors, Medical Directors and Regional Director in order to facilitate operating efficiencies between the medical group and MedAmerica employees.   Interfaces with billing company to optimize and streamline billing, coding and collections. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:


Manage operating procedures including patient registration, insurance verification, and collection of receipts.

Provide updated information on new accounts, managed care plans, and coding updates to billing department and Clinic staff. 

Oversee all accounts payable transactions.

Respond to patient complaints and questions as needed.

Serve as a liaison between MedAmerica and the physician group

Provide feedback through written correspondence to physician group where areas of improvement or development are discovered.

Ensure Corporate Compliance for all billing issues with regard to staff, set all policies and procedures regarding operations at the site level.

Supervise the Regional Office check receipt site and personnel.  Monitor all check deposits from Insurance billing, track totals and resolve questions, refunds and returned monies.

Responsible for fee schedule updates and pricing, monitor charging trends and adjust appropriately.

Oversee all ACC insurance contracting, assuring the highest payments for services based on codes, utilize MedAmerica contracting Dept. for negotiations.

Monitor compliance training for all ACC employees.

Responsible for Human Resources Management for approximately 50 employees.

Provide Site Managers & Supervisors with policies, procedures and protocols required for clinic operations.

Help site Managers & Supervisors with operations, personnel, and financial issues relating to site performance


 

 

Minimum Qualifications:


BA or BS in business or healthcare administration preferred.

2-4 years experience in clinical management and supervision.

Solid understanding of medical insurance plans and office procedures.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

A flexible approach, which is necessary to prioritize multiple demands to meet deadlines.

Solid understanding of financial reports and ability to analyze numerical data.

Excellent team building, customer service and personnel development skills.

Senior Home Care Agency and Nursing Community Openings
Hiring Certified Nursing Aides and Companion Caregivers (no certification required)
Part-time, Full-time, Live-in, Overnights for Weekdays, Weekends, Evenings
 
Flexible Schedules Available for the SACRAMENTO area and surrounding areas

Experience Required:
For some cases, no previous Caregiving experience is required as long as you're professional, caring, and compassionate with the ability to work independently.  Assignments in nursing communities may require certification.  Let us know your experience level and we will hire and assign you appropriately. Training available.
 
Job Duties:
Must confidently perform these essential job functions:

Provide Companionship
Help Enhance Quality of Life
Assist with Meal Preparation and Meal Planning  
Keep Medications on Track
Prevent Falls 
Assist with Walking and Light Exercise
Supervise Household Maintenance
Run Errands
Assist with Personal Care (May include Toileting, Bathing, Feeding for C.N.A. positions)
Maintain a Positive Attitude and Great Communication Skills

 
Compensation: Rates vary per position - all pay rates are competitive
