This position will handle both SMT manufacturing engineering duties to support approximately 20-30 manufacturing operators.
Responsibilities will include technical support of automated SMT circuit card assembly manufacturing equipment and guidance to manufacturing operators to facilitate assembly performance. Candidate will be performing root cause investigations and implementing corrective action as well as developing and implementing Manufacturing Processes for a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Responsibilities will include managing multiple SMT lines to support engineering processes to meet quality, schedule, and cost goals. Candidate will be responsible for manufacturing operator training and documentation.
The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years of manufacturing experience in SMT assembly in a high mix low volume industry. Should have experience in Lead Free and BGA processing.
Must have extensive experience in both military & commercial SMT assembly. Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, and material handling.
Experince is required in designs development & implementation of strategic mfg. engineering initiatives, including reflow oven profiles, BGA process, and stencil design. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
